Do AR-15 ejection port dust covers fit AR-10 / LR-308 upper receivers?
No. AR-10/LR-308 uppers use a larger, longer ejection port than AR-15s, so an AR-15 dust cover is too small to span or seal it and the hinge-pin/spring spacing won’t line up. You need a dedicated .308/AR-10 cover. Ours are cut for the DPMS LR-308 pattern (High and Low profile), which share identical ejection-port dimensions.
What’s the difference between DPMS High and DPMS Low profile uppers for parts compatibility?
They’re parts-compatible — the only real difference is top-rail height. A high-profile upper’s tang above the charging handle measures ~3/16″ (0.210″); a low-profile measures ~1/8″ (0.150″) — about a 1/16″ lower rail. That affects optic height and some monolithic handguards, but the ejection port, bolt, barrel extension, and dust cover are identical, so our DPMS-pattern covers fit both.
Will SR-25 pattern magazines (like Magpul 20-Round AR-10 PMAGs) work in an ArmaLite or Rock River Arms rifle?
It depends on the model. Modern ArmaLite AR-10A rifles accept Magpul LR/SR-25 PMAGs (ArmaLite ships them today), but the retro ArmaLite AR-10B uses proprietary M14-based “waffle” magazines that SR-25/DPMS PMAGs won’t fit. Rock River Arms’ LAR-8 runs its own magazine pattern, so standard SR-25/DPMS PMAGs are not compatible. Confirm your exact model.
How do I identify which receiver pattern my AR-10 build is using?
Start with the magazine and the maker. If it runs Magpul LR/SR-25 PMAGs, it’s almost certainly DPMS LR-308 or SR-25 pattern (Aero M5, DPMS, PSA PA-10, SIG, LMT). To tell DPMS High from Low, measure the tang above the charging handle: ~0.210″ (3/16″) = High, ~0.150″ (1/8″) = Low. ArmaLite (AR-10A/B) and Rock River LAR-8 are their own ecosystems — check the receiver markings and magazine type.
